Be very careful, get a lot of quotes, and be ready for surprise costs at the end of your move with these guys. I ended up paying around $800 more than a family member that had more stuff, and the movers actually packed their entire kitchen.
Horrible experience today. Was quoted $119/hour and was never told about a two hour minimum. We even confirmed the price to be sure. My husband moved most of the stuff the day before in order to leave just a few heavy items for the movers. We moved within the same apartment complex and was on the first floor for both. No stairs involved. We live in The Woodlands which is close to the moving company. My husband was given the bill for $400 and couldn't believe it. He called and talked to Matthew who told him there was a two hour minimum AND an hour driving charge. None of this was disclosed upfront and it doesn't make sense. This very simple move that didn't even take an hour of their time is costing us just as much as a job that would take them an hour to drive to and double work. If any of this was disclosed upfront, we would have hired someone else. That is the scam they are running here. Look at the reviews on Yelp. I wish we would have. These guys are crooks and I am going to spread the word so others are not robbed by them.
I was contacted by Jason, from their office. He 'explained' everything to me...basically repeating the same thing over and over. "Our quote was good, we do start time to end time, no matter what happens in between, blah blah blah"...I asked him to explain the hour it took the crew to get 3 miles and why I was charged for it, he said he would talk to the driver. I also asked the materials used to "pack" my home, and why they cost $300 when I was the one that packed everything, and it only cost me about $150 for all protection materials, tape, and boxes. I have included a photo of the "packing materials" they used...aka my kids blanket.
Edit: The next day Jason called me to let me know they had found some discrepancies on their end, and would refund me around $330. He let me know that I didn't have to do anything, and it's already been processed. Refund has been processed. Appreciate it.
This is the worst moving company I've ever come across!! I spent $671 and I still had to go back and get some of my things. It took them 3 hours just to load my already packed items from a 2 bedroom apartment. Was told they could mount my TV but once they came out they stated we don't do that no apologies or anything. Manager Matt has a very bad attitude plus the guys they sent has a side business of their own they got an additional $70 from me just as a tip. Please don't allow these company to move you very unprofessional!!
Moved 3 miles away. Did all the packing myself and lined it up in the hallway and the garage to easily move with dollies. The crew showed up 15 minutes early, and they were a very nice group of guys. I purchased them lunch and they were helpful throughout the day.
The problem arises when it comes to sales and billing. I was quoted 7 hours, and 1 hour of travel time. Supposedly, packing materials were included in the original quote. The team ended up finishing in 6 hours, but for some reason I ended up paying $400 more. They had added $300 of packing materials ???? (I packed everything mind you) and they charged me for not only the 1 hour of travel time, but the crew took an hour driving to the next home (3 miles away, they would not follow me for some reason). Do you think that hour was backed out along with the lunch? Nope.
We have used All My Sons three times since 2014. Each time the movers who showed up were very friendly, helpful, energetic, and polite. They wrapped our furniture carefully and protected our home's walls and hardwood floors. We recently hired All My Sons to move half of our furniture to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Everything arrived safe and sound within a couple of days! You might be able to shop around and find someone who will move you for less money, but TRUST ME it's not worth it. Been there, done that! HUGE MISTAKE! Go with All My Sons, they're awesome!
They also sell you on protecting your home, and will show you many pictures of them wrapping doors, putting stuff on the floors, wrapping your expensive items. They wrapped the expensive items as little as possible, and did nothing to protect mine or my wife's road bikes. They also did not put any floor protection down, or wrap doors.
Quality movers with better prices are out there, go find them. I wish I would have read reviews on these guys beforehand, but I'm going to chalk it up as a learning experience.
They charged me more than what I was quoted for even though I stayed at minimum like the man told me and once I got to my new home they hijacked my stuff and threatened to take it if I didn't pay them more than what we agreed on originally so I had to give them every last dime I had so they would unload my stuff. My family and I were having to relocate because of hurricane Harvey and who knew a company that prides themselves so much on customer service would be down right thieves. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau and no one use all my sons they will take advantage of you.
